![]() Natalie and Encore 2016
Of the twins, Encore certainly has the more lively personality...but she is very sensible, trusting and uses her personality for the forces of good. And has the memory of an elephant, just ask Tracy, The Mane Puller. Encore's pedigree can be found here.
Encore was the second born of the twins, and the one we were most concerned about simply because she was second born. But within minutes she soon put our fears to rest as she was up nursing and carrying on like twin births were totally routine. Encore has been very successful in-hand at Welsh Pony shows, scoring many Grand and Reserve Championships in Model Hunter, Sport Pony and Half-Welsh classes. In 2012 she claimed Grand Champion Sport Pony at the Stars of the West Challenge Cup year end show at the Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Classic III in Calgary. In 2011, Encore was Reserve Grand Champion at the same show! To cap off Encore's 2012 in-hand show season, Encore was awarded Premium status and entered into Mare Book 1 of the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar International (German Riding Pony division) stud book. Encore scored nothing below 7 (with 8's for breed, sex and type, trot and overall impression and development) resulting in an impressive overall score of 52 (7.4) which gave her a third place spot in the top five sport pony mares in the 2012 North American RPSI inspection tour ! In 2013, she was inspected and entered into the breeding population of two other North American pony registries - the Weser Ems (scoring an overall 7) Main Mare Book and ISR/OldNA registry obtaining a score of 109...which, drum roll, made her the highest scoring pony mare in North America in 2013 and within the top ten scores of all warmblood and thoroughbred mare inspected in North America. Not too bad for a wee pony. In 2015 she was fabulous in her first driving show season. Encore placed Champion or Reserve (except for one show where she was fourth) in her Training divisions. She's an incredible girl...just love my mare! Sadly, in 2016 Encore was diagnosed with navicular disease so her show career came to an end. Thankfully, she is pasture sound so is enjoying her retirement. |
